Mysore is a gem of a city in India. The weather is usually much less extreme than other places in India. The people are friendly and there's lots to do. The palace is beautiful (especially on Sunday night when they light 10K lights for an hour), the catholic cathedral is very nice. The sacred Chamundi Hill is a must! Nandi Bull is on the other side of the hill and carved from a huge boulder. There is also lots of walking places and the Deveraja Market must not be missed for spices, flowers and lots of inexpensive interesting items including incense and jaggery. There is also lots of tailors, jewelry shopping and Mysore silk shops. The Southern Star is a great hotel there.

Mysore is my favorite city in India: it feels rather quiet, spacious, clean and a good atmosphere.
There is good food, southern Indian is my fav’ nice coffee, the beautiful maharajah palace and beautiful architecture, add the holy Chamundi Hill, both for an aerial view of the city and worship of mother Durga

This listing is obviously in India.
This listing is obviously in India.
I can't understand why it's listed with Booking, com as Jugglers Rest in Picton.
It's most confusing!
When you ring the contact number it's in India and the person that answers is very hard to understand and barely speaks English.
Personally I don't think Booking.com should have the property listed at all

I arrived at mysore by train from Bangalore and didn’t get to my hotel til around 13:30. Hotellier kindly provided a map and marked on it local places of interest, thinking this would be too late to visit the palace I went to the aquarium. The best thing about it was the entrance - makes for great photos.
Walking (with the aid of good old google) I came across the palace and couldn’t resist going in. Just 100inr - same price for everyone. I didn’t have to queue for more than a few minutes for a ticket at that time of day but there were still orderly queues getting around inside. I had plenty of time before closing at 17:30 so I achieved my purpose for visiting mysore earlier than expected.
Shoes are not allowed inside the palace so I’d recommend socks as 10s of thousands of people visit every week. The sheer opulence of the palace is something I’ve not seen anywhere else. I didn’t stay for the daily palace light show as I was tired out but I understand it’s quite something.
It’s not somewhere you’d find fine dining but the hotel I stayed at had a restaurant very nearby.

GOOD PLACE TO VISIT.
GOOD PLACE TO VISIT. WE LIKED THESE PLACES SUCH AS CHAMUNDI TEMPLE, MYSORE PALACE, ZOO, VRUNDAVAN GARDEN, MIRROR MAZE AND DEVARAJA MARKET. THE WORST PLACE IS WE HAVE VISITED DOMAINE SULA WHICH WAS ON THE WAY FROM BANGALORE TO MYSORE.

The staff were very helpful and greeted us well. We just stayed for one night. The rooms are just as in the picture. The rooms that we booked had a hall, kitchen and a room with attached bathroom. Breakfast provided in our room. The entire stay was nice. It is a 15 minute distance from Mysore centre and the hotel is located in a very quiet residential area.
One of the rooms had a towel, when we asked for towel to the another room we had booked, they said they wouldn't provide. Not sure, if they provide or not.
This place is the perfect fusion between price and comfort. The hotel is located nearby the Mysore Palace (15 minute walk) and most of the other sights are also a short drive away. The room is comfortable and the shower is great. I have to highlight the staff, including Mahesh and the security man (which I sadly don’t remember the name), they helped me so much with the bags and tuk-tuks! I’d definitely stay here again.
Staff was very good and helpful. I believe this should be one of the best places to stay in Mysore. Overall food and breakfast spread was average.
My husband forgot his wallet in Mysore hotel. The duty Manager was helpful to find the same and courier it to our Mumbai residence. Though we paid 1200 for the courier but that's ok as far as we received everything back in safe condition that was more important.
the location , the room , service architect and also Kamla front desk attendant was also very polite and professional really enjoyed the stay and best thing was swimming pool on top just wow if you are going to Mysore then must stay in this hotel but the night time guard needs to being after Money money rest all good and also hotel should start making breakfast in hotel itself not from outside
The hotel manager Sumath had been so helpful and the hotel was so nice, comfortable and well situated that we ended up extended our stay after the original booking
I totally recommend this hotel
There's a shared kitchen, a washing machine and the beds are extra comfortable
The area is nice and far from the main road. No cars noise during the night
One of the worst hotel stays in mysore
People are saying good location in the review s but beside that residency one local bar was after 9 pm people are drinking on the roads and roaming.
Nothing is working inside the room
Fan is running at low speed even we keep at 4 th speed
Bath room is worst no Cleanileness
This is a great quirky hotel ideally placed in Mysore to visit the palace and the zoo. The rooftop pool was a welcome place on a hot afternoon. The dining was fabulous with good tasty food options. The design of the hotel is very interesting. Room was nice, quiet at night and had a very comfortable bed.
Rooms are really spacious and big! (apartment converted to dulex rooms) I wasn't expecting it!! seperate dinning area was a plus so you can enjoy you meal best. It was quite as expected and the vicinity as well!! Recomend for couples & families too👍
The hostel was located in a scenic peaceful place. There is a beautiful park right in front of the hostel. The rooms and premises are very clean. The staff were really supportive and friendly. Best hostel in Mysore.
The rooms were spacious, ventilation and lighting was good. The staff was polite, genuine and helping especially the reception desk staff. Would recommend this hotel to my friends and family who visit Mysore.
The room was large and the bathroom had good hot water. It was a quiet location. Hotel Stay Shine fully met my needs, comfortable and clean and quiet, nothing really specail, but very good value for Mysore.
The staff was very friendly. They catered to all of our needs. They were available on call immediately. Would stay here again if I visit Mysore again. Best thing is value for money.
The place is so aesthetically done. It is simple and beautiful. So calm and relaxing. Would totally recommend for couples. Makes sense to stay here if you have your own transport.
Food and ambience of the room was good. Swimming pool was well maintained. And the hotel located in a peaceful surrounding - 10 kms away from the Mysore city.
