Most visitors to Leh prefer to stay longer to tour the valleys nearby. We went during the off-season and the main reason was to get away from the Delhi chaos over a weekend. So Leh served its purpose for us. The main market area has good cafes, restaurants and shops. Shanti Stupa is also present in Leh. Good vibes nothing less. Leh has a large Indian Army presence so we felt very safe and secure :)

Scenic views all around with the most amazing people!
Scenic views all around with the most amazing people! Momos were my favourite local dish that you can find at most restaurants. Love that Leh is more pedestrian friendly and quiet compared to the rest of India. Perfect destination for relaxation.

Its always in the bucket list of most Indians.
Its always in the bucket list of most Indians. Has the highest motorable roads, its a paradise for adventure seekers, highest saltwater lake, cold desert, treacherous roads, borders mof two neighbouring countries. Its a must visit place.

I was expecting a little more of the city.
I was expecting a little more of the city. The market is nice, I had some fine food, but the streets and sidewalks are too disorganized, there are signs "don't walk alone in the dark because of the stray dogs" (?!?!?), it's pretty smoggy and conservation in general is lacking. Came by bicycle through the Manali-Leh road, which was amazing, but the city itself wasn't a highlight of the trip.

Amazing place.
Amazing place. Beautiful city, the cleanest place in India I've ever seen . The old city definitely worth visiting and walking around. Good tibetian food is everywhere and also nice souvenirs, like essence and stones.
Felt like that's one of the best places in India to be if you're looking for a pure energy, clean space and peaceful environment.

Leh. What a beauty.
Leh. What a beauty.
The Road after Manali is good till Jispa and then till Sarchu is also good. Post Sarchu the administration forgot to build roads till Pang. It is sheer hell for 4to5 hours of driving time (Sarchu to Pang).
Khardung-la pass weather in first week of June was not good. The Police check-post at South Pull, had a rude Policeman and they didn't allow our 4x4 Fortuner to cross-over and go to Nubra/Hunder. We missed out on these places and lost money on hotel booking (4 rooms). We were so disturbed due to this setback that we spent 10,000 to buy anti-skid chains for our car, and for another car (8K). All went to waste.
Beauties on this trip - Jispa, next to a river bed. Walkable from Hotel. Amazing. Mighty passes - Chang-la, Taglang-la, Baralacha-la, Zoji-la (we came back via Srinagar), Nakee-la and many more.
We changed plan to return via Srinagar on hearing news of avalanche on Leh-Manali road. This costed us 1 more day. But it was seamless journey. Srinagar finding hotel on spot was big challenge. Big Big challenge. Suggest to book online 1 day in advance if planning to come via Srinagar.
More plains were good. Pangong was a beauty (very cold one though). Coldest place on the Trip was Pangong. We used Warmers (top & bottom) in June at Pangong plus 2-3 more layers. Still after coming from toilet took 20 mins to warm up again at night.
We loved the Marmouths (biggest squirrel just like a teddy bear) on way to Pangong.
We loved the ShantiStupa. The cafe there serves sea buckthorn juice, apricot juice, thukpa. Loved them all.
Stayed in hotels - Chospa, Silk Route. Both were good. Chospa is ultra-premium, Silk route is budget friendly luxury. At Pangong stayed at Pangong Delight Cottages.
I recently stayed at Lynx Ladakh, and I must say it was an incredible experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted at warm smile and a welcome atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable.
Its very near to Leh airport around 1.5km, you can go by walk also,
The location is breathtaking, surrounded by stunning mountain views, manager told us it a stok kangri mountain view, the rooms were super clean and cozy, providing a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring the beauty of Leh and WiFi is super good.
The amazing views from the terrace while having breakfast, exceptionally big and clean washrooms, happening lobby space with games and amphitheatre, and quiet office space.
Yuvraj, with an amazing playlist and cheerful attitude keeps the energy high in the lobby.
The staff treated us like family. Yogesh, a well informed and budding standup comedian gave us a mind blowing tour of the nearby areas. Being an explorer himself, he is well informed of all the places to visit around Leh.
Overall, a memorable experience for life ✌️
This is the best place I have ever stayed through Booking.com. Staying in Thangkop House felt so cozy with warm welcome of the family. It was like an oasis after tiring days of travel.
The managers of the property (son and daughter of the family) Wong and Diskit are very attentive to every need of the guests. They were available for any kind of help in navigating Leh/Ladakh, but we also had great conversations about the local life.
Thank you so much and I hope to come back many times and more !
The property is neat and clean, good location, near both markets at walkable distance, Shanti stupa is visible from roof, Amazing hosts and delicious food. Upon request they made us special Ladakhi Chuttagi and Thukpa which was made with immense love and affection. the owner Sir only drove us to all the places we needed to go and charged us reasonably! The overall vibe of the place is extremely cozy, comfy, homey and welcoming, very genuine a place ! must visit must stay 🙏🏻
Overall property is good and good inner view and near to main market, staff Specially Mr Vijay and owner Arif is very supportive.
however the hotel entrance is quite small and with stairs, no parking at all. Budget hotel and be double cautious while booking via Booking.com as for this hotel they add service charge, which should not be there in India
All the meals were healthy and tasty. All we needed to do was tell them a few hours in advance what we wanted to have. Home cooked meals in the traditional Ladakhi style without having to go out to a restaurant at a very reasonable price! The location too was good; 15 minutes drive from the airport and 10 minutes walk to the city market.
Stok Village is situated approximately 15 kilometers southeast of Leh, the main town of Ladakh. It is known for its scenic beauty and is a popular destination among tourists. Stok Village offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and is a gateway to the Stok Kangri trek, which is a challenging but rewarding trekking experience.
1. Very scenic setting, with Apricot, Apple, flowers, veggies growing in their house. 2. Beautiful views from room windows. 3. Very good Ladakhi food. 4. Easy to locate & reach -- right next to State Bank Saspol. 5. Good as a base to explore Red Caves (Bago Marpo), Alchi monastery, River Indus, Iron age cave dwellings & rock art etc
It's a very warm, welcoming, and serene place right in the heart of the city. We traveled in our own car and Mr Dorjey was extremely helpful and guided us very well about our journey across ladakh. Service is also very quick. Another plus point is the food... Everything is good here.. overal a very comfortable stay.
It's a newly built hotel , with all amenities required for a stay in leh. The rooms are spacious , the restaurant is also good, it serves Indian food. The breakfast spread is also good & has many veg options. The staff is very courteous & helpful.
Spread In 2 Blocks with awasome Garden Inna Desert of Ladakh
The hotel looks exactly like it is shown in pictures.
"Ameen and the entire staff" was very polite and helpful. They made our stay super comfortable. Also, helped us arrange a cab for us to visit places. Breakfast was tasty. Hotel is located near the market and safe! Value for money!
After a 6-day motorbike tour through the Ladakhi countryside it was nice to be in a proper 5-star hotel. Rooms are spacious, clean with a comfortable bed. Showers with hot running water. Well situation and only a few minutes away from Leh's main market street.
Amazing homestay with lovely ladakhi family, everything is so perfect, the rooms are brand new, location is superb, even the food is like heaven, we wish we can stay longer, definitely we'll come back here. Great people with highest sens of hospitality
Very clean, huge room, breakfast and dinner included, and very friendly staff - I liked all of it. The hotel seems new and is well kept up. Considering everything the hotel has to offer, the room rate is very fair.
It is one of the best Hotel I had duing my trip to Leh Ladakh. Rooms are big and clean, excellent wifi connection, good dinner and breakfast. Very nice view from our rooms to see Lamayuru
A renovated traditional Ladakhi house. Very different from a normal hotel. Arnab and Anu go out of their way to help the guests so that they can have the best experience at Ladakh.
A wonderful stay in Leh with above and beyond first class service and some of the best food in Ladakh.
I felt truly welcomed, supported and very much at home.
