We arrived the day before Eid in Brunei, and while we know the staff would probably prefer celebrating Raya with their friends and family, they went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and made us feel welcome in the hotel. Everyone was so nice.

We truly enjoyed the convenience of the location, quality of the infrastructure and a very welcoming team. The breakfast was balanced and savoury.

The hotel is REALLY old, but nothing that actually interfered in our experience, even though in a first glance it is a bit shocking when you see it.
Location was great, really close to the Regalia Museum and in a 10-min walk to most of Bandar Seri Begawan's top attractions. Additionally, the room could really hold the temperature - it was scorching hot outside, but really nice inside, even with A/C off. Another huge plus was the restaurant, with fantastic and affordable food!

Different tourists have different tastes and preferences, hence my wonderful experiences of BSB may not be the same as that of others. But given the cost of my recent visit to BSB, I must say that it is like a "province" of Singapore -- with wide, landscaped roadways, generally clean points of interests, and sparsely populated (because of Ramadan?).
We did have a good time!

I love Bandar Seri Begawan.
I love Bandar Seri Begawan. It has been my ancestors' place of origin, of course, but that is not the only reason. The reasons are attractive places located at the heart of the city like Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque and Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien Park. Foods also can be found easily at the city at affordable price in Brunei dollar/ringgit.

Not a usual place for travellers, but once you're there you're in awe of the natural beauty and beautiful architecture of the country. It is a good place to travel to for a short trip of up to 4 days.

A taste of the South East.
A taste of the South East. Great food from so many different Asian countries. Very helpful calm happy people. Calm pace, they cannot be hurried. Large spaces, Pop-up street events. Covid-cautious.
My best dinner out was in KIMCHI Restaurant because I wanted Korean food. I was not disappointed. Not easy to get around as no public transportation easily available.... except you call for DART.

Its very small so 3 days is enough time. there isnt much to do but a trip to the mangroves to see the monkeys and to the rainforest is nice and peaceful if you are into nature. There isnt much luxury shopping and it is quite expensive. Local cuisine is good similar to their neighboring countries. Do try ambuyat its quite odd but worth a try.

Not much to d other then visit museums and markets.
Not much to d other then visit museums and markets. We ventured out to Tomburong which is a boat ride away and there are a lot activities there like sky walking where you go up 1000 steps n can see the jungle below, kayaking and trekking.
We ate at the local markets where local food is sold, cheap and very clean and food very tasty. If you are into gardening , few nice garden centers to visit . The only way to get around is by Taxi, which can be daunting g at times .

The free shuttle from the airport and to surrounding areas of tourist interest make the Capital Residence very worthwhile to stay. Brunei is spread out and difficult to get around as it is very car oriented. The downtown area is an easy 10 minute walk. The hotel is definitely not luxurious but staying here is going to make your overall experience in Brunei a lot more enjoyable. All of the staff were very helpful and dependable. I also liked the fact that I met other international travelers staying at the Capital Residence.
It was good atmosphere and good for the get away from the busy working time, admits in the time of covid. We check in because we book a late night ticket at the cinema upstairs. The room was clean and neat. It just the noise that keep coming from outside (at that time they are making a renovation) making us uncomfortable thru our sleep. But they inform us about it when I'm at the counter, earlier.
Down the hotel, there's a lot of eye catching shops to go thru.
Decent, comfortable room. Friendly staff. The free airport shuttle service is very convenient. Good location - not right in the centre, but within easy walking distance of the waterfront and other attractions. The shuttle can also take you to specific locations around town at certain times, although we didn't end up using it: although nobody else in Brunei seems to walk anywhere, we found it was quite easy to walk around town from the hotel.
The hotel has very nice facilities, everything you need is there! Huge pool, big and very clean rooms, very attentive staff and not only attentive, but very well trained!
The finish is of high quality, the gardens are well maintained.
The best was the huge bed and the duvets! Still dreaming about them!
The pick up from the airport had a personal touch which was above our expectations.
Will definitely come back again!
I have a long transit on my way to Seoul. I have decided to take a short stay and visit Bandar Seri Bengawan.
It is a lovely hotel located at the heart of the city. It is near the Airport and ideal for short stays or transit passengers taking Royal Brunei. It's a great stopover hotel where you can see the city and be near restaurants and eatery outlets. Great customer service and excellent cleanliness.
Many thanks to the hotel staff, they assisted me very good upon my arrived since it’s self service check in,
its Located on heart of city, near by capital mall and MCD, Jolibee etc, all just by walk, room are clean and good for couple, near by the airport off course, if you’re families with two small kids it’s still ok ☺️, overall it’s ok and sure I will come again
So… how to say about this property. The star of the show is Yani. She’s incredible and goes above and beyond what would ever be expected of staff at a hotel, going out of her way to literally do my washing for me or bring it in, making sure I’m happy… etc etc. she’s absolutely amazing but the rest of it is very poor.
Very spacious, fits for 3 family. we checked in with total of 14 people. Everything is provided & clean. Really love the place! will definitely come again for our next trip in Brunei. You can bring extra comforter & pillow just in case because the living room itself is big. Beautiful view as well! worth every penny.
The reception staff were extremely helpful with all my questions and recommendations. They also assisted in organising the airport transfer both ways which made it easier. The location of the hotel is very close to the city centre and there is also a mall opposite the hotel. Room was clean and nice.
The bed was comfortable and the pillows were soft. It was a guesthouse and I met a number of the people staying there. This does not usually happen in a hotel setting so it was a nice change.
The location is alright we just have to walk across to airport mall to grab a bite, the room is spacious and clean. The bed is big which will be ideal for couples with a child to sleep in.
The staff were super helpful and kind. Location was central and close to many sights. Liked the free shuttling to locations in town if the hotel driver was available.
Hotel is in a great location and is just about the best hotel in the city center. Everything is walking distance. Breakfast was decent. Staff were fantastic!
