Ciutat petita però molt ben cuidada. Molta oferta de restaurants. Encara que no hi ha platja hi ha piscines naturals per tot arreu. El millor de Funchal és que pots arrivar a tots els racons de la illa en poc temps gràcies als túnels que hi ha per tota la illa.

És una ciutat no gaire gran. El centre està ben urbanitzat, però quan surts del centre tot són pujades i baixades terribles. A Funchal, amb un parell de dies hi ha de sobres. Per tot Madeira, amb una setmana et pots fer una bona idea de l'illa

Ens han agradat molt la zona de Santana, aneu a menjar a Quinta do Furäo sortint de Santana té una vista sobre el mar espectacular des de la terraza. Desprès per un sopar a Funchal un lloc molt recomenable és restaurant Amazém do Sal, molt bó.

A més la situació és perfecte si el que busques es estar al casc antic de Funchal. Ho tens tot a dos passes. L esmorzar entra en el preu i es correcte: torrades amb mantega i mermelada o embotit, formatge i pernil dolç, cereals, llet, cafè, te... Vam deixar les maletes tot el dia a recepció i no ens van cobrar res. És d'agrair.
